I almost can’t believe that this entire outfit cost under $300. It amazes me when fast fashion brands so closely imitate designer apparel like this. Wowza!
Anyway, I want to chat a little about my newest winter fashion trick, which is quite simple and I’m shocked I haven’t done it previously. It was a revelation that shouldn’t have been one. It should be common knowledge. My new trick: plan an outfit around a scarf. It’s almost embarrassing that this was a monumental discovery for me. SMH.
Really, it’s quite brilliant when you want to look colorful, but not overdo the patterns. I found this amazing scarf at ASOS and just loved the color blocking and patterns. It wasn’t as cheap when I bought it though, goddamnit! It’s on sale now and I HIGHLY recommend adding one of their color block sweaters to your wardrobe because it’s just so chic in person.
So, I started there and picked pieces that complimented the color scheme in the scarf. I went with one item for each color in the scarf. I added a camel coat to finish the look. In my opinion, all the neutrals are easy go-tos no matter the color scheme. They’re like freebies! Then voila! Instant chic!
I want to dissect these pieces a little though so you know what you’re getting yourself into should you decide to purchase anything.
Camel coat: a total showstopper! This piece looks way more expensive than it actually is. I would think it was designer if I couldn’t see the label.
Purse: super cheap and cute. It’s not the most well-made piece, but it looks nice and is convenient if you’re not looking to carry too much.
Sweater: Man, I’m so sad this exact sweater is no longer available because I wear it all the time now. It’s so comfy! I linked similar sweaters though from ASOS made from the same material, so these should be equally comfortable.
Pants: Really chic and so comfortable! They look high-end to me after steaming, but before not at all. Goes to show you the power of caring for your clothes before you put them on your body. I swear the easiest way to look expensive is to buy a steamer.
Shoes: LOVE these! They’re so comfortable and I’ve worn them more times than I can count already. They’re actually bluer than my photos. The toning I did didn’t do them justice. Go off the color in the link to purchase below.
I’ve added everything below including all the color variants of each piece and a few similar coats at a bit cheaper price.
Side note: These earring are AMAZING and I got them super cheap on Amazon. They’re by a brand called Lillie & White that is only shoppable via Amazon. Check them out here!
