Bucket list item #2811 Spice Alley
Why yes, that is me stuffing my face with dumplings. Why yes, they were certainly delicious!
That’s the magic of Spice Alley: everything is delicious. You don’t know what Spice Alley is? Let me indulge you. Spice Alley is, as the name says, a little alley in Sydney filled with a diverse array of Asian cuisines ranging from Singaporean to Indian to Malaysian. There are all sorts of Asian choices. So much so that it’s overwhelming. I went with a group of friends and the amount of time it took us to decide what to eat was a little painful.
This place is mega famous for having some stellar food. So, was it up to the task? I say it most certainly was. As you saw, I went the dumpling and dessert route and I ate every crumb. The group I was with was very diverse in their selection and all licked their plates clean as well. If I had this to do over again, I would collaborate with my friends and order one thing from each restaurant and eat family style. I don’t know why we didn’t think of that at the time. My biggest regrets are a) forgetting my camera and b) not eating more food because damn. Delicious!
Not to mention this place is mega Instagrammable, yes? It’s beautiful and colorful and if you go at a funky lunch time (we did a late 2:30 lunch) then you won’t have to fight with others for your pictures.
Side note: the desserts are from Koi Dessert Bar and the coconut one was inspired. Highly recommend!
