    Power Red

I love a good power red outfit. Red is definitely my power color. I think everyone has a color that makes them feel the most confident, and red is mine. My cutie earrings are beaded fruit and are by Kenneth Jay Lane. They’re sold out, but you can rent or buy from Rent the Runway. The red top is from H&M and boy do I love it! It really fits like a charm and the cut is so flattering. I love wearing this type of top without a bra. It’s just so comfortable. My vintage belt is an old favorite of mine from my grandmother. I found some adorable, red…

    The Lynzi Dress

Dave says this is a Lynzi dress. He couldn’t explain why, but evidently this dress is my personality. So there you have it! My earrings are vintage, but fashion is cyclical. That means that I found a pair that looks almost exactly like these at Shein for only $3. Everything really does come back. These were my grandma’s and she bought them in the 80s. Pretty neat! My necklaces are all sold out at this point, but I rounded up a ton of coin necklaces that are equally cool. There are so many of them on the market right now. It really just depends on what you’re looking for. My…

    Paradigm Shift

When I decided to pursue my blog full time this year and dropped both my magazine and my fashion photography careers, I got a lot of questions why. It’s fair to ask why I would leave two seemingly successful careers behind and start from scratch, again. The question upset me a lot though because I just didn’t quite know how to answer it. I started working on this blog post a few days ago. I was laying awake at night thinking about the future of my blog, that question, my insecurities, the fashion industry and everything else under the sun. I started to thumb thoughts into a note on my…

That time I went to Candytopia

New York is full of wonders. The sheer amount of random shit to do in this city never ceases to amaze me. You turn a corner and bam! Candytopia! But what the fuck is Candytopia? The signs are so colorful and the people at the door say you must buy tickets in advance. I see a VW bug covered in gum drops at the entrance and a front gate reminiscent of Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory. Yep, I have to do that shit. I can’t go alone though. Me left to my own devices in a candy world is a recipe for disaster and obesity. But who will accompany me? Dave…

Stop Comparing Yourself on Social Media

At the end of 2019, while procrastinating at filling out my BUJO, I decided to waste some time on ye old Instagram. As I tapped my way through a minimum of 50 slides per person and wondering how long it would take me to actually look at every person’s story without swiping left (a week, maybe?), I decided I wanted to do the annoying thing and make all of my friends view my century long story too! What I didn’t realize was how beneficial that process would be for me. You see, I end every year feeling like I didn’t accomplish much. I generally don’t do resolutions, but I have…

    Anniversary Photos

When I was chatting to someone a few months ago, of whom I will not mention their name, they were quite aghast when I said Dave and I were getting anniversary photos done. They asked me why and I told them because we’re a family. Evidently because I didn’t have children it was strange to document another year in the life. And of course, I was like FUCK THAT and will always be like FUCK THAT. So rude. The point is that just because you don’t have children does not mean you don’t have the right to celebrate another cycle around the sun. Personally, I want to never stop getting…
