Hubert
Bucket list item # 2810 eat at Hubert
Sydney, Australia
Every once in a while, I throw in the towel and put zero effort into taking photos of a bucket list check. Sorry, guys! We went to Hubert for our anniversary and I just couldn’t be bothered with bringing my camera, especially considering the fact that the place was so darn dark. It seemed like a battle I wasn’t willing to fight.
That doesn’t mean I don’t want to talk about it though! Hubert is a French restaurant in Sydney with all the ambiance. Its low lighting is reminiscent of candles and the wafting music is just loud enough to be pleasant. The staff is inviting, and the food is delicious. The environment reminds me of the 20s and has a sort of grand speakeasy feel.
Of all the places we ate in Sydney, and we ate out A TON, this was by far our favorite. Everything we ate was perfect and we had these pommes anna that were the most exemplary potatoes I may have ever eaten in my life. Like, it’s worth going just for these potatoes (pictured below).
We finished the meal with an assortment of sorbets, which Dave lovingly joked was the most boring decision I could have made (dessert is always my forte). What came out was a spectacle to behold! They presented each sorbet and ice cream inside their respective fruits and the flavor was an explosion in your mouth. It was like ending the meal with fireworks.
What a night!
