Why, hello there, lovers! It’s time for my first haul of 2020: Asos edition.
I honestly can’t tell you what sort of mood I was in this go around. I just tore through the Asos website, adding cute shit to my cart nimbly bimbly until I was so shocked at the total that I had to delete half of it. I usually approach a haul thinking clearly about outfits, but this time it was all about the pieces I just thought were damn cute. So, here we are! I’m going to jump right in.
Orange Jumpsuit: 8/10
Dave would actually give this a 10/10 as this was his favorite piece of the day. He thought it made my ass look good. In reality, the material was thin and the jumpsuit really hugged my curves, so he was just seeing ass. Not a jumpsuit that flattered my ass, but ass put on display. Anyway, this is actually a very cute jumpsuit. The color is lovely (and it comes in a variety) and I really love the tie waist, which makes for a very flattering look. However, it is thin and doesn’t leave a whole lot to the imagination. It’s not sheer, but the fabric is thin. I didn’t mind it though! It would be a great pick for a hot weather day.
The earrings are a mega cheap pick from Shein and super adorable. I’m including some similar options as well as they have a ton right now.
My bracelet is probably one of my favorite pieces of jewelry I’ve ever owned. It’s from Swarovski and I’ve literally wanted one for, like, four years (since they first released them) and Dave bought me one for Christmas! It glitters unlike anything I have ever owned. It’s seriously one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry I’ve ever seen and it comes in tons of colors!
The shoes are a staple favorite from Old Navy.
Orange Polka Dot Top: 6/10 but maybe 10/10? I’m torn.
This top is a struggle to pin for me. Let me break it down.
The material and pattern are so cute and the cut looks very interesting. It’s a statement piece and truly so interesting. I love it. However, the oversized fit and lack of waist made me look much bigger than I am unless I did something in photos to give myself a waist line. It really bothered me and I didn’t feel confident.
Here’s the flip side though. The top looks very editorial, and paired with the right pieces, this could make for a very interesting look. I’m not sure I’m confident enough to pull the fit off, but I can recognize that this top could look super cool.
The photographer in me can see how I would style this on a model and it would look brilliant for a photo shoot. But I don’t feel I can pull it off and it makes me angry because it’s really a tragic result of my own insecurities. Ugh.
Cigarette Pants: 10/10
I’ve been on the hunt for a pair of great, yet affordable, cigarette pants for many moons. I actually purchase pants like these often and end up returning them because I don’t like the fit. I finally found the perfect pair. The structure is very nice and they fit great. These are really a staple item for any woman. Highly recommend! I ripped the tag off these so quick. These were an instant keeper.
The earrings were a gift from Dave for Christmas, which you can shop below. I love the modern design! And the shoes are a staple favorite from H&M that I’ve had for years and years.
Purple dress: 8/10
This is a very cute bodycon style of dress. It fits very snug! I would say it runs small, but I think it’s meant to fit this way, so you need to just squeeze your ass in it and call it a day. The textured style of the fabric was very flattering and easily hid my problem areas. This is a solid little dress!
Green clutch: 10/10
I love this clutch. If you haven’t noticed already on my IG, I’ve carried this clutch a ton. The color is really vibrant (it comes in many colors) and it’s just a chic little number. I’ve been trying to diversify my bag collection and get more color. It’s been a struggle since cutting leather from my wardrobe as I can’t carry a lot of my old pieces. This was a welcome addition!
I paired this look with an adorable Shein scarf that looks way nicer than it’s price tag and my absolute favorite heels I own from H&M. They’re sold out in the leopard print, but they have other color options. I honestly think I’ll be buying these again in black because they’re the most comfortable heels I own.
Pink matching set: 10/10 and 8/10
These don’t actually come together, but they are obviously meant to be partners. I love the look of this set. The material is so luxe and the outfit is such a bold statement and SEXY! The top is especially well-made. There are a ton of buttons on the neck, wrists and back. It is a bit of a pain to get into (better with a friends help), but the quality is truly amazing considering the price point. I would say the top is perfect and the skirt is almost there. The skirt is also beautiful, but it runs big and I think it needs a little more shape. I’m not super curvy in the waist and I still thought it needed more cinching at the waist line.
Pearl earrings: 10/10
These are great! I like that they’re large enough to be statement earrings, but light weight enough to have longevity and you can wear them all day.
Pink Shoes: 9/10 for wide feet (not pictured here)
These are stupid cute, but I couldn’t actually wear them for photos because they were too big. They run wide and I couldn’t really walk in them because they were too wide. I obviously returned them. I’m giving them a great rating though because they would be great for people with especially wide feet or plus size.
I ended up wearing a favorite pair of nude heels from H&M. These are just the best! You can also shop my press on nails via Amazon below.
White hair bow: 9/10
Really cute little bow. It only held about half of my hair, but I loved the look, so whatevs. Adorable!
White turtleneck: 10/10
This turtleneck is an easy staple for any wardrobe. Asos carries this in literally all size and ranges from petite to plus in fit. I do think it runs a little big, so size down if you want it more form fitting. I liked the looser fit, but if you want a more traditional look definitely size down. Also, it’s super soft!
Green skirt: 9/10
I really love the look of this and I thought the waistline was properly flattering. Plus, it’s obviously faux and I want more pieces like this in my wardrobe. It’s a great statement staple.
I wore some gold hoops from Shein with this that are mega cute and my favorite faux snakeskin flats, also from Shein. They’re colorful and comfy and perfect!
