10 Books to Read this Halloween

Hello, spooky season! It’s that time of the year where you eat too much candy, watch all the Halloween flicks, visit pumpkin patches, drink PSLs and the list goes on. What feeds your brain though? We have a lot of soul feeding here, but we’ve forgotten our most important organ! So, we’d better do some reading this month. I’ve made a little list of 10 books you can read this October that are perfect for spooky season! These are all books that I’ve either read or even re-read this year. Plot summaries are via Amazong.  The Outsider An eleven-year-old boy’s violated corpse is discovered in a town park. Eyewitnesses and…

    Kitchen Update

I know this is waaaay overdue and I apologize to everyone that has been waiting for this and wanting full links. I’ve finally done it though! I’m linking everything I can in the kitchen, which is quite a lot of it. There are some things I wasn’t able to link. The kitchen cabinets are shaker style from Home Depot. The paint color is by Benjamin Moore, although I’m unsure which color. If anyone is very serious about knowing the exact shade, throw me a comment and I’ll do some better digging to figure it out. The counter tops are quartz and also from Home Depot, as well as the tiling…

Quarantine Date Night: Tea Party Edition

These days of quarantine have brought many challenges both big and small. I know we’re all going stir crazy and struggling to come up with new ways to spend our time at home (assuming you have that luxury). For my husband and I, the thing we miss most is date night. We used to go out for dinner and/or an activity every Friday night no matter what! We’re now coming up with ideas at home, the favorite so far being a tea party! This was super easy. I put together a makeshift set-up using pieces I had at home. All are vintage or old aside from the tiger plates. I’m…

10 Books to Read in 2020

You know I love me some book time! Not a day goes by that I don’t start and end my day with a book. So, here are some of my favorite books I read last year that will (hopefully) blow your mind! More Than Enough by Elaine Welteroth This! This damn book! We already know Elaine Welteroth is a powerhouse with her long resume of accomplishments at the age of 33. She was the first African-American woman to be the beauty director of Teen Vogue and then the youngest ever editor-in-chief of Teen Vogue at age 29. She wrote this memoir and who writes a memoir in their 30s? Elaine…
