Bartholomew’s Cobble
What exactly is a cobble? God if I know. I tried Googling it before I wrote this blog post and the dictionary only relates this to either a cobbler or a cobblestone. Perhaps this place is named after it’s stones? I have no idea. Anyway, welcome to Bartholomew’s Cobble! I bet you didn’t think I’d be checking anything off my bucket list during covid. To be honest, I didn’t think I would either. Here’s the low down. Dave and I were meant to travel to Maine for our anniversary, which was in early June. We were gutted when we had to cancel our trip. I was so sad about the…
Sally’s Apizza
Bucket List itme #347 – Eat @ Sally’s ApizzaNew Haven, Connecticut After a long day of classes at Yale University, what does a Yale student do to relax? Stand in line for some of the most delicious pizzas in the world, that’s what! Ok, I realize waiting in line for anything isn’t relaxing, but once you’re inside it’s absolutely worth the wait. When I first walked up to Sally’s Apizza, I couldn’t help but feel excited. The line to get inside was insane and it wasn’t even the dinner hour yet. It was in those hours between lunch and dinner when no one typically eats, yet the line was down…
Visiting Yale University
Bucket list #417 – visit Yale New Haven, Connecticut I sincerely hope this blog about Yale helps you escape a little in this time of quarantine. It sure helps me to remember this cherished memory and makes me look forward to more adventures in the future. What can I say about my trip to Yale? I mean, it honestly checked all the boxes of my Rory Gilmore fantasy. It was a short list, but it included coffee cart coffee, architecture that was way too fancy for a school, students working busily in a library and people that generally looked way smarter than me. So, what did I do on campus?…
Silver Sands State Park
Bucket list item #15 – Silver Sands State Park Milford, Connecticut It’s just a small beach front with a little island you can walk to on low tide. Simple. Unassuming. Perfect. I love this kind of day. Those lazy Sundays spent quietly with loved ones in cozy surroundings. There’s something so intimate about a local beach in winter. There are two kinds of people: warm beach types and cold beach fiends. My husband and I love those cold beach days. Crisp winds, cold sand between your toes, a comfy sweater to shield from cool winds and a good book to cuddle up to. Add a lighthouse and it’s downright idyllic.…
A Weekend in Salem
Bucket list item #1826 – Salem for Halloween Massachusetts, USA Halloween is a very special time of year for me. I love dressing up in costume, scary movies, decorating, candy and all the fall happenings. So, when I get to take a special trip for the holiday, especially with my girlfriends, it’s something extra special. I’ve always wanted to see Salem for Halloween. As you well know, I have an extensive bucket list, but certain items shine like a pillar among the rest. Salem is one of those. I’ve always wanted a witchy weekend with my ladies, so when this started to come into fruition I had to pinch myself.…
