Innisfree Garden
There are a lot of little hidden gems in the Hudson Valley, and since the move it has been my pleasure and purpose to snuff them out. I’ve found beautiful restaurants, countless farms, museums and so much more. Of everything I’ve done so far, I would say one of the most special places is Innisfree Garden. Snuggled into Millbrook, a tiny city with a population of 1,418, lives a spectacular garden hidden away down a windy road nestled with grand trees and rolling hills. It’s a place you can get lost, a place you can roam free, and a place that can you remind you of the beauty in this…
Peach Picking at Fishkill Farms
Bucket List item # 1281 – fruit picking @ Fishkill Farms Fishkill, New York Once upon a time, on a summer day that was uncomfortably hot, Dave and I braved Fishkill Farms and tried to take in the splendor without complaining. Truly, we did have a wonderful time, despite our inability to get a respite from the sweltering heatwave. However, if I could have a do over (and I will because I’ll literally be there this weekend) I would say fuck peach picking and wait for fall and make a b line for the apples and pumpkins. I mean, the peaches are literally some of the best I’ve ever had,…
New York Renaissance Faire
Bucket List item #2998 – New York Renaissance Fair Tuxedo, New York What can I say? I love a good renaissance fair. I’m a firm believer that you can’t truly have a bad day at the ren fair. I mean, bad things can happen there just like anywhere else in the world, but you’re surrounded by so much good and joy that if you just breathe it in you’ll find happiness. I have a nasty habit of comparing renaissance festivals to the one in Larkspur, Colorado, which I worked at growing up and spent most of my life visiting every summer. Others can’t compare, but I think that’s more a…
NYFW Outfit 7
This was definitely my sassiest look of NYFW and a great way to end the season. Plus, everything I’m wearing aside from these sunnies is mega cheap. I had a lot of people ask me about what designer I was wearing and I couldn’t help but laugh because somehow I was making Shein look like the big bucks. Honestly, it was quite a proud moment for me. I’m going to do a price breakdown on this one because it will amaze. Sunglasses: $350 Ok, these are the only expensive thing I’m wearing, so don’t get your panties in a twist. I don’t even own them, I rented them, so if…
Coober Pedy
In case you haven’t heard of Coober Pedy, it’s almost like Australian folklore. I’d heard stories, but it was hard to believe there was really a city where it got so hot that people chose to live underground. Where mining for opals wasn’t a job, but a way of life. A place where the locals were so used to flies that they don’t blink when they mosey across their eyeballs. The truth is, I literally saw a man not flinch or move a muscle while flies danced on his nose. The truth is that all of these things are the truth. We rolled into Coober Pedy on a fairly hot…
