La Degustation
Bucket List Item #753 – eat @ La Degustation Prague, Czech Republic Dear La Degustation, I have to thank you for broadening my horizons. You made me like cauliflower. Sincerely yours, always and forever, Lynzi Seriously though, I’m pretty sure I still hate cauliflower unless La Degustation makes it. I’ve been continually attempting to eat cauliflower since this day and it always sucks. I keep ordering it at nice restaurants and moments later wanting to slap a chef. I once ordered a cauliflower foam soup from a Bib Gourmand restaurant in Vienna that was appalling. I wanted to grab them by the ear and drag them across the border…
Prague’s Best Kept Secret
I can’t say that this is really a secret, but for the general tourist I think it is. Not to mention I did a photo shoot here and the Czech model I worked with didn’t know it existed nor did another Czech friend I later came back with. I have only ever met one other person who has visited Prague that has been. So, if you’ve played tourist in Prague and you’ve actually been to this slice of literal perfection please tell me what you thought in the comments. I was doing a photo shoot one day and had planned to shoot in a public garden in Prague. I…
Feeding Pigeons in Venice: A Misadventure
Bucket List Item #168 – feed pigeons in Venice Venice, Italy Expectation vs Reality Image courtesy of my fabulous friend and ultra fashionista and stylist extraordinaire Avery accomplishing this bucket list goal in style. Pigeons are one of my favorite animals. Pigeons are beautiful, intelligent, resilient and loyal. They have a lot of character traits I strive to possess and as such I believe they should be cherished…and fed lots of bread! It’s always been a dream of mine to be surrounded by pigeons, sort of Mary Poppins style. While living in Zagreb I told my friend Sara, (a fellow traveler that you can follow here), about this fantasy…
National Marionette Theater
Bucket List Items #142 National Marionette Theater Prague, Czech Republic I like puppets…a lot. Too much for an adult probably. I blame this on a lack of puppets in my own childhood and watching them in my favorite movies growing up. The number one thing that comes to mind is The Secret Garden. This was also one of my favorite books when I was a child and still is today. I recently read it again and it seems nothing has change in two decades. Anyway, there was this scene in the movie where Mary is entertaining Colin with puppets and a small theater. You know what I mean, right?…
Karlštejn Castle
Bucket List Items #141 Karlštejn Castle Karlštejn, Czech Republic If you asked Dave he would say this was just another castle. If you asked me I would say every castle is unique. Sure, this wasn’t the most glamorous we’ve seen. It wasn’t extravagant and bejeweled, but that doesn’t make it any less special. The castle was founded in 1348 by the king of Bohemia Charles IV and was my first truly medieval castle experience. Well, technically not my first one, but this castle was how I would truly picture something from the time. It had the square just inside the castle walls, a proper guard post lining the walls (banners…
