10 Books to Read for Black History Month
Back in 2017 when I first moved to NYC, I had no idea the education I was about to get. I think it’s a given that no matter how prepared you think you are for NYC, it’s still going to backhand you and blow smoke in your face. Dave and I were feeling good about our move and feeling very confident in our apartment hunt. We thought we could afford a halfway decent apartment in a nice neighborhood. Yeah, we were wrong. Once you factor in utilities and other expenses, things are more expensive than you realize. Not to mention we just couldn’t find a building that would allow three…
Stop Comparing Yourself on Social Media
At the end of 2019, while procrastinating at filling out my BUJO, I decided to waste some time on ye old Instagram. As I tapped my way through a minimum of 50 slides per person and wondering how long it would take me to actually look at every person’s story without swiping left (a week, maybe?), I decided I wanted to do the annoying thing and make all of my friends view my century long story too! The newest challenge I’ve set for myself is mixing and matching in different ranges of tonality, like a deep tone and a pastel. So, here I go! This…
On Wednesday We Wear Pink
…and burgundy! And also, I wore this on a Saturday, but I just couldn’t resist a good title. I’ve been so into the monotone and duotone looks lately. They’re just my favorite! And this was the perfect fit for a temperate, summer day. I was lucky that the day I chose to wear this pink number was a cooler day because this dress is a bit too heavy for a typical, hot NYC day. Let’s dissect this bad boy a bit. Before doing so this entire look, aside from the shoes, is from Rent the Runway! They are truly a godsend. (Here’s a $30 RTR credit for your first rental…
